Boy, 5, invited to join heavy metal band Slipknot on stage after video of him drumming at their gig goes viral


LITTLE Caleb Hayes was invited on stage by heavy steel stars Slipknot after they have been blown away by a video of him drumming at one in all their gigs.

The video caught the attention of Slipknot drummer Jay Weinberg after it went viral with 8m views.

He was so impressed with the five-year-old’s abilities that the band invited him and his household to come back alongside to a gig as VIPs.

And so they made the lad’s evening after they introduced him out on stage part of the present’s finale.

Mum Kim, of Silloth, Cumbria, stated: “They obtained him on the stage in entrance of about 15,000 followers and he threw a set of drumsticks into the gang. It’s been such a surreal expertise, Caleb has liked each minute of it.”

Caleb was captured in his dad’s arms drumming alongside to his idols at their present in Newcastle on January 17.

The video was posted on Twitter by fellow fan Ronnie Younger, who praised him for “not lacking a beat all evening.”

The band have been made conscious of it after it went viral. Their administration group contacted his household and invited them as VIPs to their live performance on the Enviornment in Birmingham.

Kim stated: “My telephone has been going off continuous. On the Newcastle gig Caleb simply obtained onto his dad’s shoulders and began air drumming as he does usually – we’re fairly used to seeing him do this.

“A man sitting close to us recorded it and since Caleb was so in time with the beat of the drummer, he posted it on Twitter and it simply went completely loopy.


“We have been then invited by the band right down to their gig in Birmingham as VIP friends for the day on Saturday. Caleb went backstage, had a go on Jay Weinberg’s drums and was gifted with drumsticks and merchandise.”

After the live performance Jay took to social media to share the expertise about their particular visitor.

He tweeted: “It was such a blast inviting younger shredder Caleb to final evening’s present in Birmingham.”
